About Chattahoochee Valley Community College
Chattahoochee Valley Community College provides opportunities for individuals on both sides of the Chattahoochee River . The College has served as a bridge to the future for over 40 years, with two equally important commitments. We are committed to preparing students to transfer to four-year colleges by providing a strong foundation. In addition, we are committed to developing the region’s workforce through career fields such as health sciences, business, information technology, and public safety. For those who need the basics, job readiness training and GED preparation are available for free. There are approximately 2000 students enrolled at CVCC’s Phenix City campus and another population of students attends classes at Fort Benning and other off-campus sites. Hundreds more enroll in Workforce Development initiatives. Our history of excellence in basketball, baseball and softball also attracts talented athletes from high schools near and far. Each of our teams consistently advances to Conference playoffs. Many transfer on athletic scholarships to four-year colleges. Several alums earned Major League Baseball contracts. The college also boasts several student organizations which provide opportunities for students to enhance their leadership skills and serve the community. CVCC is located just minutes away from downtown Columbus and nearly 40 percent of students are Georgians. Neighboring Georgia county residents qualify for in-state tuition rates.
