About CHAYKA

The name 'Chayka - Ukraine Heritage' was inspired by Chayka Autodrome which was built near Kyiv and hosted many international competitions in the 70s-90s of the last century. Thanks to the racetrack ‘Chayka,’ Ukraine has become part of a long history of achievements and growth of motorsports in Europe, and the USA. The history of Soviet and Ukrainian racers is an unknown story for Europe and the USA. Based on unique archival photos from private archives and eyewitness interviews, we are recreating the stories of 'Chayka' racers. Chayka is the project that aims to curate a unique digital media where Motor and Car racing enthusiasts worldwide can conveniently exchange and find historical data. Our goal is to streamline communications between car and motorcycle racers who have a passion for classic motor racing and to inspire fans of all backgrounds by showing an unknown story of the Racing Heritage of Ukraine through the Chayka Project. What is unique about Project Chayka? Chayka tells the story of the greatest Ukrainian motor racers and the aerodrome that was built specifically for them. Before, no one prepared and summarized stories about the people who brought racing glory to the stadium and to Ukraine.
