Mission Statement: CheckPoint 6 Inc. is a non-profit organization that is run by military veterans for military veterans. The goal is to help combat veterans who may be suffering from from PTSD, stress, or ailments associated with war. We want veterans to learn to love themselves again as well as those that are close to them. They will practice stewardship in a community and environment that facilitates a holistic approach to living and introduces them to farming practices that promote a healthy, sustainable diet that will bring about healing and recovery. Vision Statement: CheckPoint 6 Inc. will be a fully functional agricultural farm that is run by veterans and their families. It will incorporate organic practices as well as low-impact farming techniques that foster environmental stewardship and meaningful connections between veterans and families. CheckPoint 6 will teach life skills and coping mechanisms that encourage these men and women to transition to healthier lifestyles that are sustainable. Housing will be provided on site and will give them a safe place to live and recover. It will also allow them to establish bonds by working as a team towards common, realistic, and achievable goals. They will then learn to reach out and assist other area farms and show they can again contribute and make a difference in this world and their own lives.
