CHEM-O-FLAGE is a family owned corporation. The owner, Michael Young is from Union City, Pennsylvania USA. Mike started repairing hot tubs over 17 years ago. As he was repairing hot tubs, he observed the damage that chemicals were causing to hot tubs and pools. Being exposed to all the chemicals from pools and spas, Mike began to suffer from skin, lung, sinus and eye irritation. This inspired him to stop selling hot tub and pool chemicals. In 2010, he discovered a treatment that worked great with hot tubs and pools, helping them last longer and lowering the exposure to harsh chemicals. In the process, Mike also discovered that it could save money preventing damage to HVAC systems and expensive pool components. As a father, he was concerned about the possible dangers that come from children being exposed to chloramines. Mike wanted to introduce this treatment on the commercial pool level because of his concern for people’s health and the environment. Chlorine creates chloramines, and these chloramines cause a greater risk of health issues such as Lifeguard Lung. Using CHEM-O-FLAGE will decrease the risk of children’s developing lungs from being exposed to chloramines. Mike is an avid outdoorsman. He loves hunting and fishing and sharing these experiences with his boys. The condition of our environment is very close to his heart.
