Chesapeake was founded by Jerry Parker to provide investment and portfolio management services to both private and institutional investors worldwide. Mr. Parker began his money management career in 1983 as a member of a group that became known as the “Turtles”. The “Turtles”, a group of individuals from a variety of backgrounds, were recruited by a Chicago money manager in a program that attempted to prove that investment management success could be achieved by applying a rule-based, quantitative investment philosophy to a global portfolio of futures markets. Mr. Parker's participation in this program led to the creation of Chesapeake Capital Corporation in February 1988. Located in Richmond, Virginia, Chesapeake’s team of dedicated investment professionals provide an institutional quality infrastructure and are committed to operational excellence.
