About Chevs Art
I’m Chevy and this is a bit about me: I’m from Kahkewistahaw First Nation in Saskatchewan and I hold a B.A. in Psychology from MacEwan University. I love to paint immersive and emotional portraits. The interplay between psychology and art fascinates me. My current creative process is to combine my education in psychology and to further study art techniques to enhance my understanding of how to effectively portray subjects through drawing and painting. I’ve turned to study anatomy (and then figure drawing) to improve my drawing skills of faces. By doing so, I’ve also gained an appreciation for design, composition, and storytelling. I am a self-taught artist with my last art class being in high school but I regularly learn from drawing books. I’ve also learned many technical skills to turn my work into art prints and stickers. Pursuing my art career has introduced me to so many cool people and fun opportunities that I am humbly grateful for. I’m extremely excited to see where it’ll take me next.
