About Chiavetta's Chicken BBQ
CELEBRATING 70 years! Chiavetta’s Catering has been one of the leading names in BBQ Catering in the Western New York area. Our company was started by Thomas and Eleanor Chiavetta, poultry farmers who learned about BBQ chicken through the Erie County Farm and Home Center in East Aurora. The Chiavetta family started their BBQ by offering catering at weddings and banquets, in addition to operating the Chiavetta’s Churchside Farms. By 1957, the business began catering large events like local church and fire department fundraisers, and soon enough, Chiavetta’s was doing so well they could afford to buy a brand-new truck. By 1980, the people of Buffalo, NY had become so hooked on the taste of Chiavetta’s BBQ sauce that the family decided to begin bottling and selling it as its own featured product. Thomas and Eleanor’s sons, Peter, Paul, and Tom, sold 250 cases of the sauce in their first year, and 500 the next, and more and more every year after. Currently, Chiavetta’s Catering Service is Buffalo, Hamburg, Amherst, and Lockport’s premier event catering & fundraising experts. During the annual season, running from May to October, Chiavetta’s caters roughly 15-20 events a week, with June the busiest month of all. As a local favorite, during one of the summer’s largest and most popular events, The Erie County Fair, the Chiavetta’s team works hard to serve 3,000 dinners a day — cooking 900 chicken halves at a time during peak hours. With event catering and drop-off catering services available all over Western New York, Chiavetta’s is proud to bring the best BBQ in Buffalo to areas including Hamburg and Amherst, as well as a location Lockport, specializing in dinner take-out.
