About Child in Time

Established in 2013, Child in Time is a therapy service operating within schools and colleges. As a group of 40 registered therapists, we provide counselling services to children and students needing support in primary and secondary education, but that’s not all. We now also provide support and advice to parents and carers through online consultations. School Counselling Working directly with schools, Child in Time counselling services allow children and young people to discuss and address concerns and worries in a safe environment. Such support can help build the emotional, behavioural, mental, and social health and well-being of students. As a school, it can be difficult to know where to start. We will guide you through the start-up process, and find a therapist who best suits the needs of your school. Outcomes for long-term 1:1 therapy are extremely positive but we can also set up short-term, group and drop-in sessions. School Workshops & INSET Days We offer a number of workshops/INSET across the year. These are run by mental health professionals for teachers, support staff, children or parents. Our workshops generally last one hour (although longer training sessions can be provided) and include topics such as empathic parenting, co-regulation for staff and managing stress for children/young people. Parent Online Consultations Our experienced child and adolescent counsellors and psychotherapists are now available to meet parents online for consultations. These sessions have been carefully developed to help parents and carers who are looking for practical advice on how to support the emotional needs of their children. This is not therapy. This is guidance from trusted professionals with experience in understanding the developmental hurdles that can leave parents feeling overwhelmed.
