About Child Safe Horizons
Child Safe Horizons (CSH) is a specialised consultancy group with extensive experience in child safeguarding, international child protection, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA), investigations into sexual exploitation and abuse. Child Safe Horizons (CSH) works with non-profit organisations, UN agencies, schools and international organisations. We focus on training and development, mentoring, and systems-building to ensure children are protected from all forms of violence, abuse and neglect. CHILD SAFEGUARDING - Our team works with various organisations on developing child safeguarding policies and procedures, as well as implementation strategies to ensure the policies are robust, actionable, tailored to the needs of the organization, culturally-appropriate, and meet global best standards. PREVENTION OF SEXUAL EXPLOITATION AND ABUSE (PSEA) - We have strong expertise in developing donor-compliant (USAID, DFID, DFAT) policies to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse committed by agency staff against beneficiaries in the field and at headquarters. Standards we follow include Inter-Agency Guidelines; Core Humanitarian Standards guidance; and relevant UN Bulletins and guidelines. SEXUAL EXPLOITATION INVESTIGATIONS - We conduct investigations into serious allegations of sexual misconduct and patterns of abuse and exploitation (e.g. grooming) by staff and volunteers of agencies against beneficiaries, using international standards such as IASC, Core Humanitarian Standards, InterAction, and local legislation. INTERNATIONAL CHILD PROTECTION - Systems experts with extensive experience in mapping child protection systems; building the social work profession; community-based child protection systems; preventing trafficking and CSEC; alternative care; case work / management; child labour; various areas of child protection research; learning and development; and information management.
