About Childreach
Since its inception in 1975, Childreach has been committed to promoting the healthy development of young children and their families. The vision of Dr. John McKim, founder of Childreach, has been reflected in a wide range of services and supports that have developed over the years. Childreach has grown with the generous support from a variety of funding sources including the City of London, the Provincial Government, the John McKim Childreach Endowment Fund, special events, corporations, and public donors. A two-phased capital campaign launched in 1995, and concluded in 2000, enabled Childreach to purchase and renovate the current facility located on Maitland Street in London. Our commitment to excellence through strategic partnerships resulted in the merger of the Early Childhood Education Resource Centre with Childreach in 1997. Our Resource Centre provides professional development, consultation, resource materials, and information to promote quality in child care and early years professionals and parents. Currently, Childreach provides prevention and early intervention services for children aged 0-12 years by supporting their parents and caregivers through drop-in playgroups, learning opportunities, information, and individualized support. We received over 40,000 visits to our centre and community outreach programs.
