About Children in Wales - Plant yng Nghymru
Children in Wales is a charity that represents the voices, interests and well-being of all children, young people and families in Wales. As the national umbrella organisation for the sector, we offer the unique opportunity for our members and other professionals to share and exchange skills and expertise, and combine knowledge and experience. Children in Wales’ core activities include: • Advising, supporting and representing members • Disseminating information on policy, research and best practice • Promoting Wales-based research about children and families • Co-ordinating policy initiatives agreed with members • Educating the public on children's issues • Acting as a focal point for campaigns supporting the interests of children • Provide a public mouthpiece for children especially the most disadvantaged • Drawing attention to serious deficiencies in services for children • Improving services through practice development projects • Facilitating and supporting the work of others with similar aims • Promoting issues and good practice in Wales the UK, Europe and Internationally Children in Wales membership is open to individuals and organisations who work with children, young people and families within the third, statutory and private sectors. We can provide you with valuable resources, expertise in policy development, networking opportunities, up-to-date information services, discounts to all our events and a lot more. We co-ordinate a number of forums and networks on all topics that affect children, young people and families in Wales and offer a full range of training courses.
