About Children's Home Society of South Dakota
Our mission is to prevent, treat and heal trauma. Our mission is to prevent, treat and heal trauma. Established in 1893, Children's Home Society of South Dakota is the oldest human services, nonprofit organization in the state. Through a merger in 1998, Children's Inn, a domestic violence shelter established in 1977, became a program of CHS. CHS provides emergency shelter, residential treatment and special education for children, forensic interviews and examinations for children, foster care and adoption services, and prevention services. In addition to serving victims of child abuse and domestic violence, CHS also partners with caring parents to help children with emotional or behavioral issues. CHS is accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by South Dakota Department of Social Services. Learn more at chssd.org.
