About Children's Peace Initiative
Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is a vital part of education that has been shown to yield positive results for students, adults, and school communities. There is a wealth of evidence demonstrating the benefits of SEL, coming from multiple fields and sources. Studies have shown that SEL leads to improved social and emotional skills, attitudes about self and others, social behaviors, conduct, emotional distress, and academic performance. In addition, surveys from organizations such as CASEL show that teachers, principals, parents, and students all agree that SEL is essential. Given the overwhelming evidence in support of SEL, it is clear that this type of education is vitally important for everyone involved in the educational process. The CPI Program combines an annual in-classroom curriculum with e-learning integration, tools, resources, continued educator development & support, One-on-One virtual sessions, and online community. Following SEL standards, our approach to our curriculum is agile and flexible, catering to the individual needs of schools and learning centers. We provide recommended plug-and-play Scope of Sequences that can be adhered to while encouraging customization necessary to ensure success in any classroom. Looking Toward the Future: Our future roadmap includes parent, caregiver, and student learning resources, courses, activities, videos, music, parent development, and other opportunities to ensure the reinforcement of skills and training learned in the classroom in the home environment. Every school calendar year will see new curricula, activities, resources, educator training programs, community involvement, and more. Our Promise: As our membership grows and more schools and learning centers adopt the CPI Program, we will perpetually investigate new technologies, ever-evolving as we listen to school, member, and learning center feedback, classroom needs, and the world around us.
