Inspired by the views from atop Detroit skyscrapers and cross country travels while working as a Telecommunications Technician with Local 58, Chris Ahern turned his lifelong photography hobby into a successful business in December 2013. Since then, he has received a variety of awards for his work from the Detroit Institute of Arts, Madison Heights City Council, publications and honors and has had a variety of gallery spaces and events. His work can currently be found at Mix Bricktown, Ventana Breakfast Bar & Grill, The International Bancard Building, the offices of The Detroit/Windsor Tunnel, The Local 58 Union Hall & Benefits Office and more. His work has been featured in a variety of publications, including CBS Detroit, Channel 7 WXYZ, Metro Times, Visit Detroit, Ypsi Real, Oakland County Times, Macomb Daily, Curbed Magazine and more. He's been interviewed on The Mike Bonner Show (910am Superstation), Be Inspired With Shoggy Tosh (SALT FM), The Ernest Clark Show and The DJ O-Bey Podcast. He also works with Local 58’s Broadcast/Utility crews for FOX Sports and CBS Sports, worked on productions with Comedy Central and is Local 58’s Press Secretary as of 2019. Chris and his wife Bethany (who is also a talented, professional photographer) are available for hire for a variety of events and portraits.
