The Christenson name has been actively involved with Edmonton since Lloyd Christenson founded the original company in 1970. Today, Greg Christenson and Peter Dirksen own Christenson Group of Companies – building active adult communities, as well as building and managing fun, social seniors retirement communities. Each company in the group of companies has a distinct role. Vision and planning for each project comes from Christenson Developments. Location and lifestyle play a major role in each building that bears the Christenson name. The construction management arm, Can-Der Construction, brings the vision to life and ensures the craftsmanship meets Christenson’s exacting standards. Vision and construction create a house, but compassion makes it a home. Christenson Communities is the management division for our life lease communities that combines the old fashioned values of caring and respect with contemporary supportive services. The exceptionally trained Communities staff imbues each senior housing community with a rich quality of life. The Christenson Group of Companies is connected with its community. Greg Christenson and Peter Dirksen donate time, resources and financial donations to support a number of local charities, the arts, sports, business and education. Our Christenson projects are similarly engaged with their local communities. Christenson pioneered the urban village concept, helping to create spaces in which neighbours get to know each other while walking to shops, restaurants and services.
