About Christians in Communications

Founded in 1989, Christians in Communications is an organization designed to provide Christians affiliated with the cable television and telecommunications industry an opportunity for fellowship with other Christians. A group of forward-looking Christians saw a lack of Christian connections within the cable industry and took the initiative to create a conduit to make these connections. These connections originally took place at the major cable television shows and events, including the Independent (NCTC) Show, the Western Show, the SCTE Cable-Tech Expo, and the NCTA Show. All were invited to attend the breakfasts, which sometimes include a speaker and always include good fellowship and support. The breakfasts continue today at The Independent Show, the Mid-America Cable Television Association show, the SCTE Cable-Tech Expo and occasionally other events. Each year, CIC members and other people of faith volunteer at a food bank in the city or community hosting The Independent Show. CIC also provides a quarterly webinar featuring discussion and education about being a person of faith in the workplace. Members come together to build up one another in Christ, to promote Christian ethics in the workplace and industry, and to provide an outreach to members' communities and the cable television industry at large. Originally, Christians in Cable and now Christians in Communications, the organization provides opportunities for members to meet at various cable television industry shows, providing an inspirational message, enabling members to fellowship with other Christians, and often featuring a renowned Christian speaker.
