About Chronoscoop film & photography
The company Chronoscoop originates from a combination of two interrelated disciplines: History and Art. The organization was founded by two individuals stemming from these fields. After graduating in History at the State University of Groningen in the Netherlands, with a special interest in documentary and film production, Johan Zielstra decided it was time to create an innovative company, which would merge visual arts and historical analysis. Joining forces with Kim Taminiau who studied at the Art Academy Minerva in Groningen, specializing in photography, they form a unique company that operates in an international context varying from the production of historical documentaries, art exhibitions to the creation of video clips and educational and information films. Chronos means time and scoop in this connection “a part of”. Thus Chonoscoop in connection to film or photography means frozen time.
