About Chrysalis Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence
Chrysalis’ mission is to lead our community to broad-based solutions to prevent domestic abuse. We achieve this through a variety of services offered as part of our 360-degree strategy aimed at interrupting and ending the inter generational cycle of abuse from both sides of the victimization spectrum. Chrysalis currently operates the following programs: 1) A 50 bed crisis shelter committed to serving all victims regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation. Offerings include emergency shelter, food and necessities, client advocacy, trauma counseling and case management 2) Transitional Housing promoting self-empowerment, personal accountability and positive decision-making by providing affordable housing, workforce development, financial literacy and educational resources for up to two years per client 3) Outpatient Counseling lead by Masters-Level therapists specializing in domestic abuse 4) Victim Advocacy featuring an exclusive partnership and collaboration with the Maricopa County Adult Probations Department (MCAPD) 5) Lay Legal Advocacy providing Chrysalis clients and community referrals with assistance and resources regarding civil, criminal, family, federal and probate law 6) PAC/PEACE – Preventing Abusive Conduct Program for offenders, through which participants accept responsibility for their abusive histories, identify negative belief systems and adopt non-violent behaviors.
