About Church of the Living God

We are a Missionary Baptist Church; the 7th of 7 churches founded by the late William Rush Plummer in the mid to late 1800s. Six of the churches are located in Memphis, Tennessee and the 7th is located in Palmdale California. The Palmdale location is largely a training and resource location. It publishes a local community newspaper, God's Gift of Grace, called 'Having Our Say...Community Newspaper'. This location also provides an accelerated program specifically designed for women seeking to embrace their calling as a Pastor, Evangelist, Missionary, Teacher or Disciple. The most recent program graduated on November 28, 2010. The program is currently open for enrollment. Men are welcome to join this program, however the Minister's in Training Program is designed specifically for men seeking to learn more about their duties and responsiblities in ministry prior to ordination. Men are taught within the church under the supervision of an ordained member of the Clergy. This location provides Etiquette class for children ages 11-17 from a Christian perspective. This location has launched a local Missionary Baptist Association as well in effort to fellowship with churches of like faith, to organize and promote an annual convention and retreats for the family an the congregations in Southern California.
