Chutzpah! Festival is an annual performing arts festival committed to bringing world-renowned international dance, music, theatre, and comedy to Vancouver audiences. Led by Artistic Managing Director Shayna Goldberg, Chutzpah! Festival offers cutting edge multidisciplinary art presentations by globally recognized artists. Presenting award-winning performers annually, Chutzpah! Festival creates unforgettable experiences for a wide-ranging, yet discerning audience. For twelve days in 2025, performers from cultural hubs such as Canada, Israel, Germany, Switzerland, and the USA take the stage of Chutzpah! Festival’s home The Norman & Annette Rothstein Theatre (NRT), located at the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver, as well as at other Vancouver venues including the Vogue Theatre and The Beaumont Studios. Chutzpah! Festival was launched in 2001 by the Vancouver West Side Theatre Society. Now entering its 25th year, the festival continues to draw attention and acclaim from its audiences and from national media, such as the CBC, the Vancouver Sun/the Province, the Georgia Straight and Stir. This internationally recognized trademark event has expanded to include Chutzpah! PLUS performances, artist post-show speaker series, workshops, creation dance and theatre residencies in the NRT, and other events and partnerships with community organizations. The Vancouver West Side Theatre Society, established and incorporated in 1994, also operates the NRT, a professionally equipped 318 seat performing arts proscenium stage theatre catering to the presentation of professional dance, music and theatre, as well as film, literary and community arts events.
