Founded in 1941 by Marvin R Scott, Detroit Flame Hardening Company has remained a family owned business. While Marvin was a metallurgic engineer working for a major industrial gases corporation, he developed a technique unique to the metal flame hardening process. In 1941 he brought this process to the industrial forefront and began the Detroit Flame Hardening Company. Through the years Detroit Flame Hardening has expanded its reach throughout the world, and currently has locations operating in Detroit Michigan, Cleveland Ohio, and Cincinnati Ohio. For over 80 years, Detroit Flame Hardening has continue to develop and perfect its surface hardening processes, and offers hardening services to a multitude of industries throughout the country. With our professional experienced metallurgic staff, we continue to perfect and offer a multitude of services in the areas of flame hardening, tempering, normalizing, annealing, precision straightening, and so much more.
