PT A Cinemateca Portuguesa ou Cinemateca Portuguesa-Museu do Cinema é uma instituição pública tutelada pelo Ministério da Cultura, Juventude e Desporto, dedicada à difusão e preservação da arte cinematográfica e, em especial, do Cinema Português. Foi criada em 1948 por Manuel Félix Ribeiro, sob a designação de Cinemateca Nacional. Fundou-se em Lisboa, onde se mantém até hoje. A Cinemateca Portuguesa organiza ciclos de cinema e exposições, e dispõe de duas salas de cinema, arquivos fílmicos, fotográficos e videográficos, um centro de documentação e uma biblioteca. Nas suas instalações encontram-se, ainda, uma livraria e um bar-restaurante. É parte da instituição, o Arquivo Nacional de Imagens em Movimento (ANIM), situado em Loures. EN The Portuguese Cinematheque, is a public institution overseen by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the cinematic arts, with a special focus on Portuguese cinema. It was established in 1948 by Manuel Félix Ribeiro under the name Cinemateca Nacional. It was founded in Lisbon, where it remains to this day. The Portuguese Cinematheque organizes film cycles and exhibitions, and it features two screening rooms, film, photographic, and video archives, a documentation center, and a library. Its facilities also include a bookstore and a bar-restaurant. Part of the institution is the National Archive of Moving Images (ANIM), located in Loures.
