About Circles & Ciphers

Mission Circles & Ciphers is a youth-led organization that uses restorative practices, mutual aid, and the art of hip hop expression for young people to experience leadership and creative freedom to abolish the prison industrial complex. Vision We are creating generational freedom, equitable space, and community where black and brown youth ages 18-29 who have been impacted by violence and the carceral system have safe space to heal. Through our program areas: Creative Arts, Wellness, Mutual Aid and Youth Leadership we collectively heal and work to bring about the abolition of the prison industrial complex. We host six programs per week on Chicago's north and west sides. Our National Consultancy, founded in 2015, has rendered services to: Yale Law, Harvard School of Education, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and more. Our consultancy has hosted workshops in: California, Ohio, Indiana, New York, Virginia, Connecticut, and across Illinois.
