CITTEC (Center for Research and Technology Transfer of the Eucalyptus and Corymbia genera) was established as a strategic alliance between two major companies: Agropecuaria Popayán, S.A., a Guatemalan company with over 35 years of experience in horticulture and more than a century of agricultural tradition, and GrandBay Corp, a leading multi-Latin company in the production, conversion, and commercialization of personal care and household products, especially tissue paper (toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, among others), and the owner of DEFORSA – Desarrollos Forestales San Carlos S.A. With more than 20 years of applied research and genetic improvement in both genera, CITTEC aims to transfer the most advanced genetic materials available in the market to its clients quickly and efficiently. Each improvement program, whether for Eucalyptus or Corymbia, is developed with specialized approaches tailored to the needs of each industry. The goal of this alliance is to capitalize on the experience and expertise of both companies in successfully transforming different productive sectors. Our hybrids are oriented toward key forestry industries such as biomass, pulp and paper, industrial timber, among others. Currently, CITTEC has a portfolio of over 400 Eucalyptus and Corymbia hybrids, supported by an ambitious program that aims, on one hand, to provide the industry with the best genetic materials and, on the other, to maintain a continuous line of research and permanent improvement. In summary, CITTEC is established as a reference center for the licensing and transfer of high-quality forest hybrids, offering innovative, high-value solutions to the global forestry industry
