The City of Coon Rapids is unique local government agency, serving 62,435 citizens. Coon Rapids...Community strength...for generations. The City operates under a Council/Manager form of government. In this form, the Council establishes and directs city policy, and appoints a City Manager who is responsible for implementing those policies and carrying out the business of the Council. The City Council is comprised of a Mayor and six Council members. Five of the six members represent the city's five wards, with one member elected at-large. All council members are elected on a non-partisan basis.
