Welcome To The City of Glen Cove. I like to tell my family and friends that Glen Cove is a storied North Shore community that’s north of ordinary – it’s extraordinary. With the $1 Billion Garvies Point waterfront development in vertical motion and the new Village Square project rising to bring a new vitality and housing options to our downtown, our city is poised for economic and recreational growth. In addition, we are investing in safeguarding our city’s natural resources with new water wells and air strippers, preservation of our beaches and ensuring our senior citizens and youth are provided with best-in-class programs and facilities. As one of only two cities on Long Island, Glen Cove has its own Police, Auxiliary Police, Volunteer Fire, Harbor Patrol and Emergency Medical Service departments and personnel to serve the needs of our residents. And proudly I say that our community is consistently named as one of America’s Top 100 safest cities. By protecting and safeguarding the wellness of our residents, our city is truly able to flourish. Recently named by AARP as an Age Friendly Community, our Glen Cove Senior Center and Youth Bureau are working with over 30 community organizations on a series of initiatives that will continue to enhance the quality of life and services in Glen Cove. With gratitude to the efforts of our Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Building Department, City Clerk, Code Enforcement, Finance and Mayor’s Office teams, our staff works diligently to meet the varied needs of our residents. From recreational programs and recycling to storm recovery and home renovation permit needs, the City of Glen Cove staff is just a phone call away.
