The City of Maplewood was incorporated 1908 and is an inner-ring suburb of St. Louis, located in St. Louis County, Missouri. Centrally located in mid-St. Louis County, it is bordered by the City of St. Louis to the east, Webster Groves to the south, Brentwood to the west and Richmond Heights to the north. Maplewood has direct links to Highways 40 and 44, providing quick access to the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County. Over the last decade Maplewood’s Special Business District, which includes Maplewood's Historic Downtown and a very vibrant part of South Big Bend, Sutton, and Manchester roads, has experienced a revitalization with an influx of restaurants, businesses, and shops.
