About: Working on the front lines of high-poverty, urban communities, nonprofit CEOs need more than creative curriculum and a heart for helping low-income youth to keep the lights on and the doors open. To survive and thrive in a challenging and often lonely job, non-profit CEOs need, but seldom can afford, the comprehensive and proven effective leadership EDUCATION, COACHING, MENTORING, NETWORKING + ACCOUNTABILITY our City Scholars® Fellowship for Education provides tuition-free for leaders helping youth where the need is greatest. As a dynamic and diverse leadership learning community, our Foundation Fellows build the SKILLS + CONFIDENCE + CONNECTIONS to lead mission-focused, impact-driven, well-balanced, highly efficient and sustainable organizations. Since our humble beginnings in 1993, we've awarded small grants to neighborhood after-school programs (1994-1998); provided free management training for after-school program staff (1999-2006); and, since 2007, sponsored our tuition-free City Scholars® Fellowship. . . . AND we're just getting started.
