About CJB Outreach

The CJB Outreach is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women-led households who find themselves unexpectedly as the sole head of their family, often due to the loss of a spouse or partner. Our mission is to provide a proactive safety net for them during a critical time of transition by offering resources, guidance, and support to help them thrive rather than being in a perpetual state of survival. Unlike many traditional aid programs that require an applicant to meet strict income thresholds or to already be in financial ruin, beyond recovery, our approach is preventative rather than reactive. We recognize that sudden loss of a partner’s support and income can put women at risk for a quick and lasting financial, and just as often emotional instability. We believe that they should not have to qualify as impoverished to deserve the assistance to have a safe, steady, and substantial future. Our goal is to intervene before the download spiral by providing access to resources such as financial planning, legal advice, career guidance, and emotional support. We aim to empower women and preserve them and their family’s quality of life by laying the foundation for long-term success where the crisis began rather than after they fall.
