About Classical Equitation
Mary Anne Campbell teaches riders and trains long term, committed students to become professional trainers and teachers themselves. Study at her headquarters near Salem, Oregon or invite her to teach at your facility-- or try online instruction. Mary Anne's students come from all over the US, Canada and Europe to learn this very old, almost forgotten, and delightful approach to working with the horse. In addition to "intensives" (private riding retreats) Ms. Campbell regularly travels to give clinics and private lessons all over the world to bring the ideas to your horses at home. It's fun, horses worked this way are relaxed and progress very quickly-- when was the last time you rode an easy piaffe? And the rider is empowered to learn to think things through for themselves. French classical work is beneficial for the horse by the horse's standards-- not just ours. They become more comfortable and balanced, and live longer, healthier lives. The work also benefits the rider through its development of genuine partnership and cooperation. The learning doesn't end at the arena's edge!
