About Classroom Teachers Association of North Carolina
CTANC is one of the largest non-partisan professional teachers organizations in North Carolina. At only $150 per year for experienced teachers, our affordable coverage provides $1,000,000 professional liability insurance per member and $3,000,000 per occurrence, plus the cost of defense, investigation and legal fees arising out of a member's duties as a professional educator. We also offer membership and coverage to first-year teachers for only $80 and student teacher and retired memberships are available at just $30 per year. CTANC offers local representation before elected bodies on pertinent educational issues. We meet regularly with the N.C. Legislature to ensure that the interests of our members are represented. Additionally, we retain a lobbyist in Raleigh who also provides representation on the state level and legislative updates to our members. CTANC works proactively to protect the interests of students, teachers, assistants, support personnel and student teachers.
