About Claydies

Claydies Profile. Claydies is a Danish company founded by Tine Broksø and Karen Kjældgård-Larsen in 2000. We are both educated from The Danish Design School in Copenhagen, Denmark. Well founded in the craftsmanchip of ceramics we do design in different kind of materials. We are known for our conceptual design and products produced by Normann Copenhagen and the Danish company Kähler-Design. Other than that we make exhibitions and performances showing our ideas and conceptual approach to crafts and design. Karen is also known for designing the Bluefluted Mega for the porcelain factory Royal Copenhagen. Claydies Philosophy. We do exhibition projects just as well as design items and you will find many different kinds of objects and artpieces in Claydies portfolio. The common factor is, that it is always the idea and the concept that dictates our work. Objects made for exhibition is just as important to us as a series of products. You could say that the exhibition projects are our artistic motive. We often relate to recognizable elements from everyday reality. Our vision is to make design, arts and crafts that offer a new angle to the field. We have our roots in ceramics, and we love to develope design objects with our "hands". Even if the objects end up in the hands of a producer, it should still have a Claydies’ touch. We try to create beautiful things which have a story to tell, and we often use humour and irony in order to comment on different aspects in design.
