We are a Teesside based charity supporting ex-offenders into paid employment. In 2019 we decided to utilise our combined experiences of prisons and rehabilitation to benefit Teesside and North Yorkshire. Unearthing a vastly underrated talent pool our vision was to create a network of social value driven employers that would give us opportunity when the time was right to advocate our candidates without prejudice into paid employment. Why is our work so important? • Re-offending rates in the UK are at record levels • 56% of adults are reconvicted within one year of release • There are 50% more people in prison than there was 25 years ago • The cost of all this to the UK is approximately £15bn per year • Just 17% of offenders have employment within 12 months of their release Our stats effective of September 2022: 252 referrals; with 191 paid employment opportunities being provided and a further 17 people into further education. As of February 2022, have just a 4% reoffending rate within 12 months engagement with us. When compared to a national average of 56% this shows the importance of providing employment and allowing ex-offenders to participate in and contribute to society.
