Our vision is a world without plastic pollution, where communities, especially in coastal regions, have access to safe, dignified waste management. We believe this is possible through a circular economy that values recovery, transparency, and shared responsibility. CleanHub was born from our founders’ firsthand experiences with ocean plastic pollution. As avid surfers and travellers, Joel and Florin witnessed plastic washing up on beaches in places with no formal waste systems. It was a wake-up call. They committed to finding a scalable, systemic solution — to stop plastic from getting into the ocean in the first place. We chose to focus on plastic recovery, rather than traditional recycling or waterways cleanups, because the problem starts earlier: where no collection system exists. Without an effective waste management system, individuals around the globe are left to either discard in nature or burn waste. This model funds and tracks verified plastic collection from source, providing reliable income for local waste workers and measurable impact for the brands that fund it. Our app documents waste collection with GPS data, photos, and AI-reviewed weights, producing an average of 59 data points per ton. Giving our partners end-to-end verification of waste volumes collected, sorted and processed. Key objectives: -Prevent plastic leakage by building recovery systems in high-risk regions -Provide transparent, third-party verified impact - Enable brands and individuals to take credible, measurable action on plastic pollution - Support the informal waste sector with stable jobs and professionalized operations - Advance circular economy principles through recovery and reuse
