At Cleanwave Foundation,At Cleanwave Foundation, our mission is to safeguard and restore the Mediterranean through holistic marine stewardship. We are science-focused to do the right thing, technology-based to do things right, and community-driven to make things last. To achieve this, we drive three complementary initiatives: MedGardens: Leads the restoration of underwater forests and Posidonia meadows in Mediterranean bays. With a scientific approach and marine stewardship, it seeks to recover biodiversity and strengthen ecosystem resilience in the face of global change. Cleanwave Movement: Promotes the shift from a throwaway culture to a mindset of reuse. It provides alternatives to single-use plastics, develops a water refill network across the Balearic Islands, collaborates with local stakeholders, and fosters citizen participation to reduce plastic pollution. Cleanwave Education: Reconnects people with nature through workshops for children and youth, fostering sustainability, environmental awareness, and inclusive opportunities for under-resourced communities. By engaging both the social and emotional dimensions and harnessing intrinsic motivation — a key driver of pro-environmental action — it inspires value-driven behaviors that create real and lasting impact.
