About Club Español e Iberoamericano del Arbitraje
The Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club (the CEIA Club) is a non-profit association established in 2005 dedicated to promoting Arbitration in the Spanish and Portuguese language as a method of conflict resolution, being the best instrument for the growing strength of the Ibero-American arbitration community. The objectives of the CEIA are: - Take a decisive step towards the parity of its members. - Promote the use of Arbitration between Spanish and Portuguese speaking businessmen. - Serve as a forum for the exchange of ideas and knowledge between professionals. - Collaborate with judges and magistrates in the study, development and application of Arbitration. - Prepare reports and recommendations on good arbitration and mediation practices, as well as codes of conduct, which constitute guidance guidelines. - Organize conferences on arbitration and mediation, and an annual conference that serve as a meeting point. - Maintain a website with relevant information on arbitration and mediation. - Publish a list of members on the Club website. The CEIA, currently chaired by Alfonso Iglesia, presents a brilliant reality: more than 1,300 members, of 49 different nationalities, organized territorially through 30 international chapters. The CEIA works functionally through Commissions and Working Groups, highlighting the CEA-40 (with nearly 600 members) and the CEA Women (which brings together more than half of the Club's members) that write reports and recommendations aimed at lawyers, arbitrators, national and international arbitration and mediation institutions, judges and magistrates, academia, legislators and public administrations. In addition, the CEIA carries out intense activity through seminars, conferences broadcast by videoconference in various countries, annual conferences and publications such as the Spain Arbitration Review.
