Accessible and affordable software for urban management ♻️ 🌐 Frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals/Agenda 2030 and the New Urban Agenda aim at a sustainable, inclusive and resilient development of societies, grounded on the principle of "leaving no-one behind". Although remarkable progress has been achieved, there is still plenty of people and places being left behind - especially those who need it the most. One of the bottlenecks on that regard is that, despite the wide availability of information, tools and technology that would allow cities to address the issues they face, for the great majority of them, these instruments are completely out of reach, simply because they are not tailored for their use at scale - they are either unnecessarily complex or too expensive. ClUrb is a social enterprise aiming at closing this gap. We simplify and digitalize complex frameworks and tools to support cities and communities in implementing policies, plans and strategies in their most pressing issues in a rapid and collaborative manner. With that, we work towards our mission to support cities and communities globally, in particular the least-resourced ones, to achieve a more inclusive, sustainable and resilient development. Our first tool, ACCTION, on disaster risk management, has been implemented in a varying of contexts in 5 countries worldwide. Same for other customized tools on topics such as slum upgrading, localisation of global agendas and knowledge management.
