About CM Maps and Socials
Welcome to CM Maps and Socials! My name is Carlee McIsaac. Take a moment to reflect on this question: do you know how your business looks online? My goal is to help your business shine bright on all online mapping (e.g. Google Maps) and social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Twitter, etc.). I graduated from the University of Calgary in 2018 with a combined degree of BA in Geography and a BA in Communication + Media Studies. I also have additional education in GIS and Emergency Management. As an active user of various social media platforms (remember Vine?) since the late 2000s, I've had the idea to help businesses improve their online presence for several years. It wasn't until the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 that the idea solidified. It broke my heart to hear of so many small businesses closing their doors through that period. I wondered why some companies continued through and maybe even grew their customers, while others had to close. One common factor I began to notice was how businesses looked online. Those that had a unified, active, and appealing online presence tended to be more successful. Is the business visually appealing and easily identified through consistent branding by customers both online and in person? Would a customer be able to find their physical store or restaurant location with ease? Could the business be contacted easily through a website or social media platform? These were the types of questions I began to explore. Are you a business owner looking for help improving your business's online presence?
