About Coalition Ending Gender-Based Violence

Who We Are: The Coalition Ending Gender-Based Violence is proud to serve as the collective voice for over 40 community-based, culturally specific and/or BIPOC-led organizations all working towards safe and just communities free from gender-based violence. The Coalition collaborates with our members, community leaders, public officials, and others working to end gender-based violence right here in King County. We are conveners, connectors, and builders. We weave gender-based violence analysis and values of equitable relationships across our community and we influence systems and institutions that impact survivors. Our Values: We value collaboration, self-determination, survivor perspectives, gender justice, racial justice, transparency and accountability. Our values are not static but active and help us create a team culture with integrity and a lot of heart! We are BIPOC and Queer led and majority of our board and staff identify as survivors of gender-based violence. We believe in a positive vision that together we can create safe and just communities where all people thrive. Our Work: Our small but mighty team works with member programs and at the intersections of various systems that impact victims and survivors. We build capacity through training and technical assistance, we connect providers across diverse fields, and we lead system change efforts in the following areas: Behavioral Health; Housing & Homelessness; Civil Legal System; Violence Prevention & Community Safety; Public Policy. We fight for protective legislation, policies, and funding at the state and local levels to improve how our communities handle domestic violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking.
