Coastal Carolina Radiation Oncology Center (CCRO) has been providing excellent medical care to patients with cancer for 30 years. You may have known us under our former name, New Hanover Radiation Oncology Center. We felt a name change was in order to better represent the fact that we provide professional services at 5 locations in the coastal area of North Carolina: Coastal Carolina Radiation Oncology Center (Wilmington), Zimmer Cancer Center at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (Wilmington), South Atlantic Radiation Oncology (Supply), CarolinaEast Cancer Care at CarolinaEast Medical Center (New Bern), and Coleman Radiation Oncology Center at Carteret County General Hospital (Morehead City). CCRO is recognized as the largest provider of radiation oncology services in Southeastern North Carolina. We are a professional corporation employing board certified or board eligible physicians specializing in the treatment of cancer with radiation. The practice was founded by Martin Meyerson, M.D. in 1979 and has been in continuous operation since that time.
