Coastal Foods Company started as a team competing at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Clam Chowder Festival under the name "4 Men and A Clam". The "4 Men and A Clam" team was created by two local residents of Scotts Valley, CA. Jerry Stellman, an avid sports fisherman and home cook, created the "4 Men and A Clam" chowder recipe. After winning the clam chowder contest several years in a row and then competing in Alabama at the World Food Championships we decided to take it to another lever by creating Coastal Foods Company to share our chowder with you!
