About Coastal Transportation
As a family owned and locally operated shipping company, Coastal Transportation understands the value in capably serving the communities of Western Alaska and the Aleutian Islands through fast, efficient and reliable cargo transportation. It has been doing so for 30 years. A U.S. flag marine transportation company, Coastal operates six vessels with scheduled year-round sailings between Seattle and ports throughout Western Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. Its cargo vessels average 260 feet in length, with hold capacities averaging 100,000 cubic feet. All vessels are self-sustaining and 100 percent palletized, enabling a level of speed and flexibility unique to the region. The Seattle and Dutch Harbor terminals are each capable of handling vessels up to 400 feet in length and 20 feet in draft. The Dutch Harbor terminal is among the most efficient in the region—underscoring Coastal’s commitment to the communities and companies it serves. Twenty-eight years in Western Alaska provides a level of expertise that is unmatched. Coastal’s vessel crews have been capably serving Western Alaska for years. Similarly, Coastal’s customer service representatives have years of experience helping clients ship their goods to and from Western Alaska.
