About Coastal Virginia Medical Society

Coastal Virginia Medical Society (CVMS) is an organization of health professionals who advocate for better patient care, better provider care, lowering healthcare costs, price transparency, better mental health, lessening physician regulation and workloads, improving competition of healthcare services to lower costs, reducing ER overcrowding, adding more hospital beds to our area, promoting greater independence for medical practices, and many other goals to improve healthcare in Eastern Virginia. We create legislative proposals, talk with our elected representatives, and make things happen for the betterment of our members and their patients. We also provide multiple benefits for our members including discounts for restaurants, medical supplies, linen services, recruiting services, referrals to medical practices, multiple medical and non-medical educational opportunities, and social events throughout the year. We are also developing a Foundation to provide charitable benefits for the community including medical scholarships, medical research, support of free medical and mental health clinics, and other similar projects. If you are a physician, surgeon, faculty member, med student, or resident of any specialty and wish to be part of a progressive, active, charitable organization with great benefits and advocacy for providers, and if you wish to have a voice in how healthcare is managed in our area, please consider joining. The more members we have the stronger we are. Dues are only $20/month, billed annually. Free for medical students and residents.
