About Cobalt Advocates
Nothing should stand between you and your health decisions, which is why Cobalt is dedicated to fighting for systems, structures and policies that protect reproductive rights and guarantee comprehensive, universal access to reproductive healthcare, including abortion. Our daily work ● We are committed to securing and protecting every person’s access to reproductive health services, and combating all threats to that access -- now and in the future. ● Cobalt realizes policies, structures, and attitudes that secure unlimited and affordable access to the full range of reproductive health services, including abortion. ○ Policy ■ We elect lawmakers who will actively fight for reproductive freedom and oppose those who work against it. ■ We hold policy-makers accountable for their role in protecting reproductive freedom. ■ We share information to ensure policy-makers are aware of all barriers and issues related to reproductive healthcare access. ○ Structures ■ Through funds and support systems, we ensure no one is provided with misinformation or denied health services because they cannot afford them or find them in their community. ■ With our Cobalt Abortion Fund, we put special emphasis on making sure individuals seeking an abortion have the information, resources and support systems they need. ○ Attitudes ■ We confront stigma and misinformation wherever we see it. ■ Through the powerful combination of community-based stories and science-based research, we shape the public conversation around abortion and reproductive health so that it is supportive of every individual’s decision. (We were founded in 1967. Cobalt is our third iteration. Previously we were NARAL Pro-Choice Colorado and we were originally known as the Colorado Association for the Study of Abortion (CASA).
