About cōchu chocolatier

Inspired to find and follow a true passion, Anne Sellmer discovered the fascination of working with chocolate - the chemistry, artistry, complexity, alchemy of this ancient wonder. After training and an apprenticeship with Bernard Callebaut, she decided to take the leap and start a chocolate business. Drawing on a diverse background that included psychology, industrial design and a lifelong love of food and fine cooking, she launched cōchu chocolatier, with an emphasis on the enjoyment of fully experiencing the chocolates, from the packaging to the design of the chocolates to the balanced finish on the palate. Since its official launch in February of 2017, Anne’s surprising, nuanced flavour combinations and meticulous craftsmanship have earned 49 awards in national and international chocolate competitions, including 28 world final medals, being awarded the title of 6-star grand master chocolatier, and named one of the top 10 chocolatiers and confectioners in North America.
