Code 1 Aviation began operation in early 2012 in Lakeland, Florida. Shortly after this, we added a second location in Dekalb, Illinois. In the fall of 2012, we moved our northern operation to a much larger facility in Rockford, Illinois. In 2015, we began offering various services out of a third location in Carbondale, Illinois, including inspections, airframe/sheet metal work, and composite repairs and fabrication. In 2016 we acquired the assets of International Jets and added Gadsden, AL to our ever-growing list of resources and facilities. We maintain and operate multiple facilities for the convenience of our customers, but we can also take our services "on the road" if needed. Our mobile operation allows us to operate from numerous client locations. The name “Code 1” is derived from a military aviation term for an aircraft that is in perfect condition, and is ready to fly with no discrepancies. It exemplifies the perfection and high level of quality that we try to bring to everything we do. Our maintenance team is comprised of more than 20 specialized and general technicians, whose expertise spans the wide range of skills needed to restore and maintain all types of warbird aircraft. Our L-39 specialists have over 100 years of combined experience with the L-39 Albatros and many other aircraft types. As our reputation and reach has grown, we have attracted not only new customers, but also the attention of some of the warbird industry's best technicians, and we're proud to say that we now employ many of them!
