Founded in November 2020, Buffalo Brew Coffee is a small, locally owned coffee roaster based in West Des Moines, Iowa. We are passionate about three things - roasting great coffee, providing outstanding customer service and minimizing our environmental footprint. Whether you're a small, medium or large business located in the Des Moines metro, if you're looking to show your employees or customers you appreciate them by providing great tasting, clean, locally roasted coffee, we're here to help. In addition to commercial customers, our coffee is also available for purchase by wholesale customers and individual consumers. Because we’re a small company, all of our coffee is roasted by our two owners. We start with only the finest green coffee beans and maintain a strict climate-controlled environment prior to roasting to ensure maximum freshness. Multiple test roasts and tastings are conducted to determine the optimal roast profile. All of our coffee is roasted using a fluid-bed roaster which uses convective heat to roast the coffee rather than conductive heat used by traditional drum roasters. The result is a more even roast and cleaner coffee free of hydrogen sulfide. The buffalo in our logo symbolizes our owners' passion for the outdoors and our company’s dedication to the conservation and preservation of the environment. Although the buffalo is a hearty animal, there are very few truly wild buffalo remaining in the United States. Our owners recognize that we are visitors on this planet and that as the world’s population increases, we must commit to being responsible stewards of the earth for the sake of all living things and future generations. Buffalo Brew Coffee does not use natural gas or liquid propane in our roasting process and local deliveries in the Des Moines metro area are made via bicycle whenever possible.
