About Cohabitas

Cohabitas is a house sharing platform dedicated to people over 40. We connect live-in landlords with housemates looking for a room, and also help housemates looking in the same location buddy-up to rent a place together. Our mission is to help tackle two societal issues: 1. Rising housing costs, accelerated by the cost of living crisis. These rising costs are affecting many home owners, who find it increasingly difficut to stay in their home and in their neighbourhood, as well as housemates over 40 looking for a place to live. Competition for rooms for rent and house shares has increased for all groups, but there is less choice for the over 40s and housemates requirements can be more particular. 2. Loneliness in older age. According to Age UK, 1.4 million people over 50 in the UK are often lonely. With an ageing population this trend will increase further over the years and decades to come. We believe life should be enriching and connected to one another, no matter your age. A successful house share will often depend on finding like-minded people you can relate to – which we aim to provide with our service.
