About College of Biblical Studies - Houston
The College of Biblical Studies is a private nonprofit nondenominational Bible college serving students online and at campus locations in Houston, Texas, and Indianapolis, Indiana. Since 1976, CBS has been educating and equipping multiethnic Christian leaders to impact the world for Christ. Programs include Bachelor of Science degrees in Organizational Leadership, Biblical Studies, Biblical Counseling, Christian Leadership, and Women's Ministry; an Associate degree in Biblical Studies taught in English and Spanish, certificates, and personal enrichment courses. CBS provides several scholarships for students, including the Emerging Leaders Scholarship. This scholarship program addresses the father absence epidemic in communities by educating, mentoring, and supporting men 17 – 30 who have grown up without a positive father figure in the home. CBS is a member of the National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) as a Division II member in the Southwest Region for men's & women's basketball. The men’s team, the Ambassadors, is led by head coach Michael Young. Young began a standout collegiate career at the University of Houston. He played alongside his long-time friend, Clyde Drexler and other greats such as Hakeem Olajuwon. Young went on to play in the NBA and internationally. The women’s team, Lady Ambassadors, is led by head coach Patricia Luckey. Luckey played professional basketball with Priolo Sicily (Italian League) and Phoenix Mercury (WNBA). CBS is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award up to baccalaureate degrees. The CBS Global Campus provides online vocational training for professional-level positions in high-demand occupations tailored to meet the needs of today’s employers. Courses include accounting, medical billing, paralegal, cybersecurity, IT, and more. www.global.cbs.edu
