We are a vibrant community dedicated to supporting underrepresented students in Computer Science, Technology, and related fields. 🌍✨ Vision: To create a future where Black and Latinx technologists lead innovation and contribute to a more inclusive tech industry. 🌟🔧 Today, Black and Hispanic professionals make up 31% of the U.S. workforce but hold only 12% of STEM jobs and an even smaller percentage of technical roles in leading companies. In the tech sector, Black professionals represent just 4% of the workforce, while Hispanic professionals account for 8%. At Baruch College, these disparities reflect the limited representation of underrepresented students in technology programs. 📊🔍 Our chapter is addressing these gaps by: Building Community: Creating a safe and inclusive space for students to connect, learn, and grow as technologists. 🤝💬 Providing Tools for Success: Offering mentorship, career workshops, technical skill-building resources, and academic support to help students achieve their goals. 📚💡 Fostering Industry Connections: Collaborating with industry leaders and recruiters to prepare students for internships and full-time roles in the tech field. 💼🌐 Through our efforts, we aim to increase enrollment, retention, and success rates of Black and Hispanic students in technology programs at Baruch College. Together, we’re shaping a more diverse and equitable tech industry, one student at a time. 🌱🎯
